The first heart failure conference organised by the University Hospitals of Strasbourg
The first heart failure conference organised by the University Hospitals of Strasbourg was held on 26 September 2017.
Heart failure is a serious chronic cardiovascular disease with more cases diagnosed every year. Today 1 in 5 people in France will develop heart failure in their lifetime. It is the leading cause of hospitalisation in the over-65s and a major source of disability in the daily lives of the patients it affects and their families.
However, this disease is not well understood by the general public and yet prevention, detection, information sharing and improved care are key to optimising the management of these diseases.
Organised in the context of Heart Week, the 1st heart failure conference brought together professionals specialised in heart failure management, organisations (Alsace Cardio) and patients. After these informative conferences, participants had the opportunity to test the E-care platform.
